Overview
The SIDI(SAMBALPUR INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT INSTITUE) as organization accentuated institutional building process at the grass root level with the formation of male and female sanghas in order to facilitate a process where the villagers will be able to understand the exploitive mechanisms, can strive to come out of the clutches of poverty and play an effective role in strengthening the PRI to address the basic issues/ problems affecting them.
History, Philosophy, Aims and Objectives
A group of professional trainers from Orissa reflected that the training needs can only be realized by synthesing perception and action. These trainers after leaving SEARCH, Bangolore decided to take up activist role, which was supported to amalgamate the development elements. Each of these committed development workers decided to work in different tribal pocket of Orissa. Abhiram Panigrahi explored the present area. Who is a Post graduate from Utkal University and have 15 years of experience in working with different organization in different position. Then Abhiram started working in Jamankira Block with the help of another 4 graduates. This team along with some other professional formed the formal group called Sambalpur Integrated Development Institute (SIDI) with its head quarter at Jamankira. The target community of SIDI is mainly the tribal dalit, women children and underprivileged.
